Cheer we go again!

There was plenty of fun in the sun when SELECT Members and their families joined staff to enjoy a day of entertainment and fundraising as our Summer Carnival returned after three years

Hands up if you’re having fun: children show how much they’re enjoying the day

Staff, Members and their families enjoyed a day of face painting, entertainment and games at The Walled Garden as this year’s Summer Carnival returned in style.

Partygoers spent an afternoon in the sunshine at SELECT HQ on Saturday 25 June to help raise funds for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC).

Children’s entertainer STARZ Entertainment kept the kids amused, plus there were prizes galore to be won on the hook-a-duck and coconut shy games, and tasty hotdogs, candyfloss and doughnuts.

Other attractions included balloon making, tug-of-war, our Beat the Buzzer game and colourful artwork courtesy of Face Painting by Laura.

“After a break of three years, we were delighted to see everyone back enjoying themselves”

The tombola and raffle saw plenty of prizes up for grabs too, with giveaways including an evening escape to Stobo Castle, a one-night stay in a Marriott hotel and a handmade wooden resin clock.

The day was organised by SELECT staff Michelle Courtney, Laurie Burns, Linda Rolfe, Fiona Smith and Yvonne Wilson.

Benefits Manager Michelle said: “After a break of three years, we were delighted to see everyone back enjoying themselves. The children had a great day – and the grown-ups had plenty of fun too!”

The day raised a total of £688 towards Linda’s upcoming fundraising trek along the Inca Trail in Peru in aid of the EIC.

She said: “I am so grateful to everyone who came along and supported a fantastic day. Every penny will go to a great cause that helps electricians and their families.”
